Spring is here and the diving has been as nice as the weather. Get ready for that summer vacation, and don't be stuck ashore while your friends go diving. Classes forming every 2 weeks. Contact us to sign up.
Now offering Advanced Adventurer Program!
Divers,
SSI has a new cert level called Advanced Adventurer. What you get is 5 specialties over 5 dives. Looking at doing Boat, Night, Navigation, Deep and Perfect Buoyancy. 2 nights during the week in our learning center and Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, and then a day at Aquarena and a day at Lake Travis. If you are interested, let me know and we can start the scheduling.
Go Tech with SSI's TechXR Program
SSI's TechXR program is the ideal way to get everything from an introduction to technical diving, or to learn everything you need to safely plan and conduct decompression dives with Trimix. Even if you aren't looking to go deeper, this program will significantly increase your skills and knowledge. Contact us for more information or to sign up. Class coming later this spring, so sign up now to get the equipment list and books.
NITROX Class March 13th.
If you haven't already taken this class, come out and join us for a few hours to get your NITROX certification. Extend your dive times or just use it for the added safety factor. Only $109 for the class. Call to sign up.
Go Nuclear!!! (and get the T-Shirt)
Well, not exactly, but there is only one place that I know of where you can dive an old nuclear missile silo; and we're going there March 20th and 21st. The silo, now called "Dive Valhalla" is only open by appointment, and we are renting it for our private enjoyment over the weekend. It's located about an hour North of San Angelo, TX. I've been there before, and it's a great experience. For more information about the site, check out this link. The cost for admission for both days is only $60, so sign up now.
Update: We've had to postpone this trip. I'm thinking about sometime in June. If you want to be updated when we reschedule, shoot me an email and I'll let you know.
Another great weekend!
Congratulations to Ernesto, Nhat, Christina, Jordan and Heather on earning their Open Water certification. We had a good time up at Aquarena Springs, and thankfully the weather was better than last weekend when we did the pool sessions (in a nice warm 76 degree pool). Another class starts next weekend (January 23). Sign up now if you're interested.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Mike and Kenneth on completing their Open Water Diver class. It was chilly, but the water was much warmer than the air. It was nice to have the Aquarena Springs training area to ourselves though. The next class starts January 9th, and there is still time to sign up.
Winter isn't stopping us!
Open Water Classes have been starting every two weeks, and have been filling up quick. The lakes are cooling off quick, but thankfully we still have the warm(er) spring fed waters of Aquarena Springs and the Comal River to dive. Also, we have a nice indoor heated pool for the class. Next class starts January 9th, sign up now.
